House Sparrows are actually large Finches and they appear in small, to medium-sized groups.
Male House Sparrows have a clearly visible grey crown, a black face and throat. Female House Sparrows are slightly paler than the males and they don't have a grey crown or black face, they instead have a pale buff eye stripe. Young House Sparrows are similar to the adult female.

The House Sparrow's nest is a large, untidy ball of grass, wool and feathers. The nest is lined with feathers and finer plant materials. The nest is sometimes located in crevasses in buildings but also under bridges, in thick bushes or hollow trees.
